How do I edit, hide, suspend or delete a device?

Each device card on the Devices page lets you edit its details, hide it from Home, suspend it, or delete it.

Before you start

• Role needed: Admin or Owner.
• Where it is available: web.

How to get there

1. Sign in (see How do I sign in to my farm?).
2. Press Devices in the side menu. On a phone, it is in the bar at the bottom of the screen.
3. Find the device card under “📡 Devices”. Devices are grouped under their units, with each unit’s Master first.

Edit the name, role and unit

Change any field on the card and it saves by itself, with no Save button:

• Role: Master node, Soil node, Hydroponics node or Other. The role arranges devices under the unit’s Master.
• Name and Room appear on Home.
• Order: a number that sets the device’s position.
• Unit: pick the unit the device belongs to, or “no unit”.

Hide a device

Hide removes the device from Home without deleting anything. Its card turns faint on this page, and Show brings it back.

Suspend a device

1. Press Suspend.
2. Type the reason in the window that appears.

The device stops sending readings and stops receiving commands, and nothing is deleted. The reason shows on the card. Press Resume to bring it back.

Delete a device

1. Press Delete on the card.
2. Read the confirmation and confirm.

⚠ Deleting is permanent: it deletes all of the device’s sensors, readings, actuators, commands, alert history and rules, and cannot be undone. The device stays removed even if it reports again, until you restore it from the Removed items section at the bottom of the page.

Tips

• If you only want the device to rest, suspend it instead of deleting.
• Hide instead of delete if you just want a tidier Home page.

Common problems

I do not see the Hide, Suspend and Delete buttons. Your role is Viewer. They show only for Admins and the Owner.

I deleted a device by mistake. Restore it from Removed items, but its old records do not come back.
