What do the colored bars at the top of the page mean?

A colored bar may appear at the top of every page, under the top bar. It is a notice about the farm itself, not about a sensor or device. If you see no bar, your farm is running normally.

  • Role needed: any role.
  • Where it is available: web.

The bars appear by themselves, so there is nothing to press. You find them at the top of any page after you sign in (see How do I sign in to my farm?).

The side menu: press Home (1) to open the Home page.

Color What the bar says What it means
Blue 🧪 “Demo farm”, “Sandbox” or “QA farm”. The greenhouse is simulated This farm is for trying or showing. Nothing real is switched, and the data is not real
Red ⛔ “This farm is suspended…” The farm is suspended and your data is safe. Readings keep arriving but nothing can be switched on; switching off still works
Red ⛔ “This farm is fully suspended…” The farm is fully suspended. The devices have stopped sending until it is resumed; your data is safe
Amber ⚠ “You are browsing” and a farm name An AASOM support person is browsing this farm. You do not normally see it

A blue bar at the top of the page saying this is a simulated demo farm.

In a Sandbox farm the bar also shows the test device and its key, with a copy button for the key. You use them to connect a test device.

  1. First make sure the page is up to date, since the bar shows when the page opens.
  2. Your data is stored safely and will not be lost.
  3. Contact us from the bottom of any article in this Help Center, or contact whoever set up your farm, to learn why it was suspended and when it will resume.

I cannot switch anything on but readings arrive. This is the partial suspension (the first red bar). Switching off works, and switching on is blocked until the farm resumes.

The blue bar shows on my real farm. Tell us right away. It should appear only on test farms.
