How do I install the AASOM app and sign in?

The AASOM app lets you watch and control your greenhouse from an Android phone. The steps in the app are the same as on the web.

Before you start

• Role needed: any role.
• What you need: the app file (an APK) from whoever set up your greenhouse, your greenhouse address, and your email and password.
• Where it is available: the app, on Android.

How to get there

After the installation, open the AASOM icon on your phone’s home screen or in its list of apps.

Steps

1. Open the APK file on your phone. If Android asks, allow installing apps from this source. The wording of this setting differs between phone makers.
2. Open the AASOM app.
3. In Greenhouse address, type the address your greenhouse was set up at. It looks like my-farm.workers.dev.
4. Type your email in Email and your password in Password.
5. Press the sign-in button.

What happens next

The app opens your farm. It remembers the address and keeps you signed in, so you do not type them again next time.

Tips

• The greenhouse address is the same address you open in the browser, without https://. Ask the farm owner if you are not sure.
• If you have no account yet, first use your invitation link in a browser (see How do I accept an invitation to a farm?).

Common problems

The app shows an error after I press sign in. The app shows the farm’s own message. Check the address, the email and the password, and your internet connection.

An update will not install over the old version. Ask whoever gave you the APK; some builds cannot update an installed app and need the old one removed first.
