How do I restore a device, sensor or output I deleted?

When you delete a device, sensor or output, it stops showing in AASOM and is not added back even if the device keeps sending it. Here you find what you deleted and restore it.

  • Role needed: Admin or Owner to restore. A Viewer can only see the list.
  • Where it is available: web.
  • The section appears only when you have removed items.
  1. Sign in (see How do I sign in to my farm?).
  2. Press Devices in the side menu. On a phone, it is in the bar at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page, to the “🗑 Removed items” section.

The side menu: press Devices (1) to open the Devices page. The Removed items section: the Restore button (1) beside each item.

  1. Find the item. Beside it are its kind (device, sensor or actuator) and its ID.
  2. Press Restore.

The item returns to its list, and AASOM accepts its readings again.

Restoring brings the item back but not its old readings: deleting a device or sensor erases its readings for good (see Edit or delete a device).

If the deletion were not remembered, the device would reappear at its next report. So the item stays “removed” on purpose, and AASOM ignores it, until you restore it.

I do not see the section. You have no removed items.

I restored the device and its old readings are gone. That is expected. The old readings were deleted with the item.
